| This comprehensive manual explores the technique of applying one canvas to another background layer. This technique has not been covered in-depth in any other publication, and Ann has several innovative suggestions that eliminate some of the tedium involved. The pamphlet has well illustrated step-by-step instructions for the preparation and mounting procedures for both regular and irregular shapes on either an open or solid background. It also includes segments on both detached and reverse appliqué as well as kid and ultra suede appliqué along with several other novelty effects that can be used on canvas to produce three dimensional effects. The text is illustrated with a color cover and twenty pages of black and white examples of the techniques discussed. This pamphlet has received the endorsement of the Master Craftsman Committee of the Embroiderers Guild of America. |
