Carole Lake CHL9: Silken Symmetry |
![]() |
Silken Symmetry began as a design based on eight-fold rotational symmetry. That is to say, it began as an eight-point star and developed from there. The rule in rotational symmetry is that if you change something in one sector you must change it in all the others. As a result, this piece ended up being four-fold symmetrical. This piece is designed to be stitched on 18 count colored canvas, with a varietly of threads, including lustrous silks. Color selection is based on Watercolours, with two color families and accent colors involved. Several color schemes are included with the pattern. |
