Using colors reminiscent of the Victorian Era, our charming fan 7-3/4" square provides a unique opportunity to combine the following techniques in six-stranded cotton on #18 mono canvas.
Bargello with pattern accents - rose
Overlaid three-value Cross Stitch - blues with Balger blending filament
Diagonal plaid - composed of all colors plus taupe, gold Balger braid
Composite stitch - greens
Mini-leaf stitch - lavenders with touch of green and metallic
A rib of Kreinik gold braid couched with Kreinik gold cord separates the sections. Oriental stitch in burgundy creates the background. A piece of ivory lace couched on the fan's top edge provides a touch of elegance. Lace is not provided. A nice idea is to hunt for a piece of "family" lace to use. Victorian Fan-cy is stitched in Anchor and DMC six-stranded cotton using Balger blending filament and gold Balger braid for highlights. Instructions for the tassel are included.
