Wouldn't it be exciting to find a beautiful Japanese embroidery design and then be able to interpret it on silk? After completing the first five phases, each student will select a design or choose one from an extensive collection of line art as Rena Gordan did in 2002. One-on-one discussions with Jennifer and Rena will determine the preliminary colors and prework for the class. Pre-class work: Determine design, frame up, transfer the design, remove the design tissue, complete preliminary color and technique/stitch planning, and lay necessary foundations Kit includes: To be determined by the design, silk ground fabric and silks chosen Student to bring: Usual stitching supplies including a laying tool; light and/or magnification if needed; all supplies and silks from previous classes; the framed up silk with the design transferred and foundations stitched, if applicable |
