This small project is designed for stitchers interested in learning the
basics of Japanese embroidery or those who wish basic technique reinforcement.
Course
Description
Cherry blossoms are synonymous with Spring in Japan and in this country.
They symbolize new beginnings and are apropos for your introduction to
the art of Japanese embroidery. The 6" design highlights five stylized
flowers in soft pastel peach colors. Four blossoms have flat silk foundations.
The fifth blossom is couched with gold.
Techniques include: framing up the fabric, Japanese knots, woven effect, lattice holding, twisting flat silk into a stitchable thread, and couching. Stitched on silk fabric, this design showcases the quiet elegance of the five Spring Blossoms
