Finding pencils that are safe on the ground fabric is difficult. Here are three that will simplify marking your ground materials with the proper angles, reinforcing design lines, etc. JAT40 This multi-purpose white pencil (top image) works extremely well on dark colored ground fabrics and canvas. The lead writes on glass, plastic, and metal as well. Although not recommended, you are able to remove a water-soluble mark if absolutely necessary. The pencil lead is acid-free. $2.00 JAT41 The blue pencil has three .05 mm blue leads with ever-sharp points. You know we can't always use the same marker for all canvas and fabric colors or all types of markings. The pencil lead is also retractable so it travels well to stitch-ins, meetings and seminars. $4.00 JAT42 The bottom image is a mechanical lead holder that architects have used for years. It holds a 4H (very hard) lead to limit pencil marking smearing and dark lines that might show through light colored stitching. It travels well too because the lead retracts so the tip stays sharp and safe in transit. The blue and #4H pencils work best on light colored ground fabrics. $10.00 |
