This inexpensive little spool of thread is an invaluable asset for more than one task. First, it is used for lacing the silk fabric to the Japanese frame. Second, and perhaps as importantly, it is used for lacing the finished design to the archival mat board before framing it. (See the Lacing Instructions.) Third, it is used for tying the chopsticks firmly to the Japanese frame so they don't shift or fall out. White, very strong and pliable, it definitely makes all lacing and tying tasks much easier. I'll bet you'll even find other uses for your thread too. |
