The four design elements, pine trees, cherry blossoms, Chrysanthemums and maple leaves, are traditional elements used by artists in Japan for centuries. This design incorporates 12 Japanese embroidery techniques, including weft and horizontal foundations, separated single layer, couching and many other Kurenai-Kai stitching methods. It's a wonderful practice piece too if you finished another design and want additional technique reinforcement. |
