| Tristan Brooks Designs TBD2: Jacobean Pastoral |
![]() |
This design was adapted from a pattern in the Royal School of Needlework Archives and contains many of the traditional motifs that appear in Jacobean crewel. Worked on heavy Scottish linen twill, the stitching is done with quality Heathway hand-dyed crewel yarns from England, Gumnut wool yarns, and Pearsall's silk for accents. When finished, this is destined to become a family heirloom! The kit includes linen with design, all threads, needles, four-color instruction booklet and a detailed Stitch Glossary along with hints on perfecting your crewel embroidery. A heavy hoop with deep sides, stretcher bars, or (best of all) a slate frame are recommended to keep your work drum tight while stitching, a real necessity when doing crewel. |
