| Two advanced beginner pieces. Both designs feature techniques that give the illusion of shading without using Long and Short stitch. Perfect paired together on your wall or as pillow inserts. The kits include linen with design, all threads, needles, four-color instruction booklet and a detailed Stitch Glossary along with hints on perfecting your crewel embroidery. A hoop with deep sides, stretcher bars, or (best of all) a slate frame are recommended to keep your work drum tight while stitching, a real necessity when doing crewel. These designs utilize the Royal School of Needlework technique of mounting your linen onto muslin for an even sturdier base for your stitching. It's easy to do and the results are marvelous. |
