Robin Wilks

Robin Wilks began studying Japanese embroidery in 1991 at the Callaway School of Needle Arts. It has taken her a little over ten years to complete this exquisite, intricate Sake Box embroidery. She has completed Phase I, Hana-kago, and the original Phase IV pansy design. Her next piece will be Gold 'n Robes designed by Jennifer Ashley Taylor as a companion piece to the Sake Boxes.

Robin has studied various needle art techniques with teachers Tony Minieri (canvas); Marilyn Doyle at the 1982 EGA seminar in Orlando (her first silk and metal threads class); and Japanese embroidery with Shay Pendray (since 1991) and Jennifer Ashley Taylor (since 1994).

In 1978, Robin began designing alter kneelers, chairs, and prayer benches for churches. She also designs other needlepoint and counted thread pieces.
